Position Purpose:
Axios is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a central role in strengthening the governance, visibility, and efficiency of the Development/Software engineering function of our Digital Team - ensuring that technical operations are structured, scalable, and aligned with long-term digital goals.
Axios International Development team primarily focuses on building new features and developing new digital products and applications. In parallel, they manage our Azure environment, including databases, integrations, and the supporting technical infrastructure required to operate and scale our platforms.
We are now preparing to launch an internal Development Function Audit to strengthen governance, visibility, efficiency, and long-term scalability across the Development function. The audit will assess current practices and recommend frameworks, tools, and processes that will serve as the foundation for a more structured and resilient operating model.
Working closely with the Head of Digital and external auditors, the Technical Project Manager will support this audit and subsequently lead the implementation of its resulting frameworks and tools — establishing a standardised operational and technical structure for the Development function. Beyond implementation, the role will ensure the ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and continuous evolution of these frameworks to sustain efficiency, governance, and scalability over time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Phase 1: Audit execution and Deliverable Implementation
Support & implement the audit (Onboarding phase):
- Develop a clear understanding of existing systems, documentation, workflows, and the team, structure.
- Participate in audit meetings, workshops, and interviews as an observer to develop a thorough understanding of the current state of operations.
Implement Framework and Strengthen Documentation:
- Drive the implementation and ongoing
adoption of the frameworks, workflows, and toolsets defined through the audit. - Establish and continuously maintain documentation standards, ensuring all processes, procedures, and technical references are properly recorded
and accessible.
Establish Governance Structures:
- Embed governance mechanisms that ensure adherence to standards, coding norms, and security policies.
- Ensure ongoing alignment of team practices with organisational standards, compliance, and industry best practices.
Phase 2: Post-Audit
Long-Term Responsibilities:
Monitor Processes and Team Activities
- Continuously track development activities and ensure adherence to defined methodologies, timelines, and priorities.
- Oversee task assignment, workload distribution, and progress tracking to ensure a steady operational function.
Drive Continuous Process Improvements:
- Identify operational, procedural, or documentation gaps affecting efficiency or transparency as part of continuous review cycles
- Recommend and coordinate corrective actions to strengthen workflows and team practices.
Educational Background and Experience:
- Have you completed your Bachelors Degree in Software or IT Development or similar?
- 6–10 years of experience in technical project management, delivery management, or software operation within digital or technology environments.
- PMP, Prince2, or ITIL certification.
- Experience with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana, Trello). MS Office Suite, Dashboard & Reporting tools.
- Knowledge of software delivery standards, quality assurance practices, and documentation frameworks.
- Native-level fluency in French and English (spoken and written).
- Technical ability to dive into code where required.
Job Circumstances:
- This is a remote position with the candidate based in Europe, with working times aligned with UAE.
- Flexibility in the ability to travel as well as working hours is essential.
- You must be located within commutable distance to Paris for meetings as & when required.
